Thank you for your support since Hurricane Dorian made landfall here in Hope Town on September 1, 2019. We will continue to do our best to respond to you regarding upcoming reservations and other questions you may have.
We’re happy to announce that we plan to reopen the resort in March of 2020!
In the meantime, we’ve created this page to answer some of your most frequently asked questions. If the information you’re looking for isn’t included below, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will respond as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and continued support!
Is the resort open?
No. While we plan to reopen in March of 2020, the whole island is very much still in rebuilding mode.
When will the resort reopen?
We are hopeful that we’ll be able to reopen the resort by March 2020. This date may be tweaked depending on circumstances out of our control.
I have an upcoming reservation before March 2020, can I get a refund?
Yes. The way we are handling current reservations through March 1, 2020 and any guests that have reserved Sweet Tea or Georgia Peach villas, we are more than happy to refund your reservation as soon as we are able to do so; or if you prefer to defer your deposit, we could apply the deposit to a future reservation once the resort has re-opened. You also have the option to donate the reservation deposit to the Hope Town Volunteer Fire and Rescue Rebuild Fund. We ask for your patience while we continue to streamline how quickly we can do so in chronological order. If you have not yet been contacted by our team at the resort, please reach out to us at email@example.com with the subject line “UPCOMING RESERVATION” and include your name and dates.
*Please remember that your signed rental contract included a clause to inform you that in the event your deposit should be refunded in any event, the amount we can refund is 10% less due to credit card processing fees. We appreciate your understanding that this 10% was already paid to our credit card processor and cannot be refunded. Thank you for your patience.
How can I change my current reservation to a future date when you have reopened?
You can reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “UPCOMING RESERVATION” and include your name and dates. Please specify that you would like to defer to another date and we can move your reservation.
I have a reservation in March or shortly thereafter, what should I do?
You can reach out to us at email@example.com with the subject line “UPCOMING RESERVATION” and include your name and dates. We can tell you where everything stands at the moment. To be honest, it will take a long time for Hope Town to be the same Hope Town it was before. For those of you who have a special place in your heart for Hope Town, please know that we cannot rebuild the island without tourism. If you are willing to walk with us during this transition and regrowth, we would most appreciate it. The island will look different compared to the last time you were here but, the spirit of the people is the same and we are dedicated to giving you the same customer service as always.
Am I able to make a future reservation for after March now?
You will need to reach out to at firstname.lastname@example.org requesting what dates you are interested in coming. We would LOVE to have you come! We will know more as people decide whether they will cancel or defer their current reservations.
Are there other restaurants, boat rentals and golf cart rentals going to be open by March 2020?
We are working closely with all of our friends in regards to if or when they will reopen. We will be keeping you up to date of these items as we are made aware of them. We do know that the golf cart rentals are currently up and working.
Will the airport be open by March 2020?
We only know what the public has been informed of which is stated here. The airport should be fully operational by early November 2019.
What is happening at the resort right now?
Our crew in Charleston returned mostly recently from visiting Hope Town on October 15th. Read more about our trip here. We are grateful that all of our employees have been accounted for. We are currently working with them to get them back on track wherever they have been relocated to and actively working with relief efforts to rebuild the island. Currently, we are serving up to 300 people three meals a day in our kitchen. We have 4 employees who have done an incredible job of clearing debris and keeping our generators running. The resort has been one of the few command centers for the island.
How can I help?
Thank you for asking! The best way you can help our team here at the resort is to shop our Online Shop, as it’s currently the only way we are able to maintain a stream of income to support relief efforts. Be confident that with every purchase, all profits go directly to feeding and housing our employees and friends or rebuilding Hope Town. We’ve recently added to our store with new items, including items we brought back from The Boutique – tee, koozies, hats, towels, tumblers, bags, and more. Shop here: bit.ly/ShopFireflySunset.
We also support and encourage financial donations to these incredible non-profits 3C Hurricane Relief Fund, Southeast Rescue & Relief, & SIP Hope 4 Hopetown. For all questions related to the online shop please contact us at email@example.com or call 954.580.2FLY(2359).
